Research Day!

Today was a research day for work. We're currently working on a bayou restoration project that has many variables. To get a feel for what those variables should potentially look like in a restored state, we had to visit some sites that contain plants, bank profiles and hydrologies that should occur naturally to our site. We visited these sites via boat with our wetlands ecologist. One thing we did see today that I didn't expect was five foot tall Cardinal Flower growing in the marshes (pictured on the right).
